Bramwell Community Pool — Membership & Lane Booking Terms
Passage
A Bramwell Community Pool reopened in the spring of 2019 following an eighteen-month renovation funded jointly by the district council and a national sports charity. The pool is now run day-to-day by an independent charitable trust rather than the council directly, a change that came into effect at the same time as the reopening. The main facility is a twenty-metre pool used for lane swimming and public sessions, alongside a smaller teaching pool kept at a warmer temperature for children's lessons and parent-and-baby classes. B Three membership types are available. Adult membership costs £38 a month, Concession membership costs £26 a month and is open to students, people aged over sixty, and anyone claiming a qualifying benefit on production of proof, and Family membership costs £64 a month and covers two adults plus up to three children living at the same address. A joining fee of £15 applies to Adult and Concession memberships but is waived for Family membership. Non-members may also pay as they go, at £6.50 for an adult swim and £4 for a concession swim. C Lanes for serious swimming must be booked online no more than 48 hours in advance, and each member may book a maximum of two one-hour sessions per day. Members who fail to attend a booked session without cancelling it are recorded as a no-show; a second no-show within any calendar month results in online booking being suspended for two weeks, during which lanes must instead be booked in person at reception. Swimmers are asked to keep to the fast, medium or slow lane appropriate to their pace, as marked by the signs at each end of the pool. D Lockers are available in the changing rooms but do not include a padlock, which members must bring themselves or purchase from reception. Hairdryers are coin-operated, at 20p for three minutes. Towels can be hired at the desk for £2, against a refundable deposit of £5 returned when the towel comes back. The teaching pool is closed to general use during school holidays, when it is given over to block-booked holiday swimming courses; the affected times are posted at reception and online a week in advance. E Membership may be cancelled with 21 days' written notice given by email to the membership office; notice given verbally at reception is not accepted. A membership may be frozen once per calendar year, for up to six weeks, where a doctor's note confirms a medical reason preventing swimming; no freeze is available for holidays or other personal travel.
